Twas the Night Before Christmas… At A Courteous Communication

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through’ call center
Not a creature was stirring, not even an agent;
The stockings were hung by the cubicles with care,
In hopes that a supervisor soon would be there;
The agents were nestled all snug in their headsets,
While visions of order processing danced in their heads,

And Jean in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled the 24-hour call center for a long winter’s nap —
When out on the parking lot there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the cubical to see what was the matter.
Away to the backdoor I flew like a flash,
Tore around the sidewalk, and had 7 bites in my vision.

The moon on the roof of the new fallen snow,
Gave the luster to our agents cars below;
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature truck, and eight A Courteous Agents,
With a little driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Linda.

More rapid than Doris their courser they came,
and she whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
“Now! Darlene, now! Scotty, now! Erica and Steph,
“On! Suzanne, on! Sammy, on! Sydney and Jessy;
“To the front of the office! To the call center hall.
“Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all.

As windshield advertisements that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to Primrose;
So up to the Vue the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys — and Linda too:
And then in a twinkling, I heard on the balcony
The prancing and pawing of each little shoe.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
In the balcony door Linda came with a bound:
She was dressed all in fur, from her head to her foot,
And her clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys was flung on her back,
And she looked like an elf just opening her pack:

Her eyes — how they twinkled! Her dimples: how merry,
Her cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry;
Her droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the broad little grin was as white as the snow;
A tight little headset hung around her neck like a wreath,
And the wire that connected it snug in her teeth.

She had a happy face, and a little round belly
That shook when she laughed, like a bowl full of jelly:
She was happy and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw she in spite of myself;
A wink of her eye and a twist of her head
She gave to me, Doris so I had nothing to dread.

She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying her finger aside of her nose
And giving a nod, out the balcony they drove.
She sprung to the truck, to her virtual receptionist team a whistle,
And away they all drove, right down Robinson Street:
But I heard her exclaim, as she drove out of sight —
Merry Christmas from A Courteous Communications, and to all a goodnight!
