Feeding Children Everywhere

A Courteous Communications teamed up with Feeding Children Everywhere to help strike out hunger amongst children. Our team at A Courteous Communication has been anticipating this charity event for weeks. On September 3, 2014, we packaged thousands of meals to be delivered to hungry children all over Central Florida.

Who is Feeding Children Everywhere?

The mission statement of Feeding Children Everywhere proudly reads: Feeding Children Everywhere is a social charity that empowers and mobilizes people to assemble healthy meals for hungry children.

Founder of Feeding Children Everywhere, Don Campbell, started to show his passion for cooking at a very young age. By the time he was 10, and with the approval from his parents, he invited people into the family’s home to share his love for food and fellowship. Don has always had an open table policy, and has mentored and feed hundreds of children at his own dining room table.

The love and passion he has for feeding hungry children is shared with his wife, Kristen Campbell. The couple put together their life savings to begin Feeding Children Everywhere. A short 90 days after starting the Feeding Children Everywhere movement, their team shipped out the first 250,000+ meal container to Open Door Haiti; this was the first school that partnered with them to provide healthy meals to hungry children.

Feeding Children Everywhere has sent 20 million meals to hungry children around the world, and their goal is that every child in the world will have sustainable access to food by 2020.

Here are some details on the big event.

Our entire staff was on board to help prepare and box meals for the social charity event at A Courteous Communication on September 3, 2014. There was no way you could miss the huge truck parked right in front of our corporate office located downtown in Orlando, Florida. On the side of the truck the charity logo and mission where painted in gorgeous colors. I quickly noticed a team with shirts that matched the truck unloading tables and boxes. Just as everyone that pulled into the parking lot of our office that afternoon, excitement rose quickly at the view.

Inside the office everyone was buzzing around getting things set up to prepare the meals. The tables that had just been unloaded began to form an assembly line with different areas for food, bags and boxes. Jean Pearson, the vice president of A Courteous Communications, was right in the middle of all the action and glowing with excitement as she helped situate the tables.

The first team was called into the conference room. Everyone took their places on the assembly line and began packaging the meals. Music played in the background, the energy in the room had everyone smiling from ear to ear. Within 90 minutes, the first team of volunteers had packaged over 2,000 meals for hungry children. Team two did the same and by the end of the day, the two teams had packaged over 5,000 meals!

You can see pictures of the two teams standing in front of the Feeding Children Everywhere truck after meeting their goal. The smiling faces on our team members say it all. It was such an honor to be part of this event.

I was able to catch up with Doris Primicerio and Jean Pearson, owners of A Courteous Communications, a couple of days after the event. This is what they shared with me about the social charity, the enormous project and their giving staff:

Message from Doris Primicerio, President of A Courteous Communications:

“It is with great honor that our staff at A Courteous Communications donates their time in helping with feeding the hungry and less fortunate. The staff yesterday boxed thousands of lunches for hungry children. Our team at A Courteous Communications donated the time and we provided the space to get the job done, along with custom shirts that we gave to all participants. Our staff also goes to the coalition every few months to feed the less fortunate, again, on their own time. We the owners of A Courteous Communications, Doris Primicerio and Jean Pearson, just made a contribution to a hospital for the less fortunate. As you can see, we focus on our people, here in our city and country. I know there are people all over the world without food, and we do contribute to organizations that focus on these hungry souls as well. The feeling I get when we help the ones closest to us is one of immediate gratification. I know that our efforts will help today or tomorrow and when I go to bed at night, I know that someone may have food in their belly that may not have without our efforts. May God bless and be with all the hungry and less fortunate.”

Jean Pearson, Vice-President, spoke passionately about her staff and the day’s events as well:

“This past Wednesday we had the opportunity to work with Feeding Children Everywhere. Our team worked together and packaged 5,184 meals. These meals will be distributed here locally to families in Central Florida. This is an incredible feeling to know that the employees of A Courteous Communications have given their time willingly to help others. It is such a blessing to be able to participate and volunteer to help others and have your employees say, ‘thank you for the opportunity.’ It is always rewarding to see the smiles on the faces of those that we helped and see the gratitude that they feel.”

Our hearts are full here at A Courteous Communications today. We all are so very blessed to have had the opportunity to assemble and provide these meals to our hungry children. A special thank you to Doris and Jean for providing the space to work, the special t-shirts that will forever remind us of this special day, and of course, for the pizza!
